Basis of the edition

The present edition is based on the photographs available at the Mainzer Photoarchiv of the Hethitologie Portal Mainz, as well as the available hand-copies and relevant secondary literature up to 2019. When the original manuscripts have been collated, this is noted in the commentary.

Commentary

Collated (March 2020). Fragment of a two-columned tablet (max preserved thickness 32 mm); the clay, now orange in color, is interspersed with many pebbles. Surface badly abraded.

The extant portion of text treats cult images of a Storm god and a divine mountain as well as seasonal festivals, and mentions the construction of a shrine with a cella for the pithos (line 13′). The name of the inventoried town is not preserved. The last word of the paragraph in line 10′ is right justified.

Palaeography and orthography: Script size 3 mm. Note the spelling aš-nu-wa-an-zi (line 5′), which is rather uncommon in the corpus.
